حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِى أَبِي، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ إِلَيَّ، وَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَكُمْ أَلْحَنُ بِحُجَّتِهِ مِنْ بَعْضٍ، وَإِنَّمَا أَقْضِي لَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ، فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ حَقِّ أَخِيهِ بِقَوْلِهِ، فَإِنَّمَا أَقْطَعُ لَهُ، ، قِطْعَةً مِنَ النَّارِ، فَلَا يَأْخُذْهَا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You bring your disputes to me, and it is possible that one of you may present his argument with such eloquence and clarity compared to the other that I may decide in his favor based on his argument. (Therefore, remember!) If I accept someone's statement and decide in his favor regarding his brother's right, then understand that I am cutting a piece of fire for him and giving it to him, so he should not take it.
