حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ قُبِضَ مُسْنِدٌ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَيَّ، قَالَتْ: فَدَخَلَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَفِي يَدِهِ سِوَاكٌ، فَدَعَا بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَخَذْتُ السِّوَاكَ فَطَيَّبْتُهُ، ثُمَّ دَفَعْتُهُ إِلَيْهِ، فَجَعَلَ يَسْتَنُّ بِهِ، فَثَقُلَتْ يَدُهُ وَثَقُلَ عَلَيَّ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " اللهُمَّ فِي الرَّفِيقِ الْأَعْلَى، اللهُمَّ فِي الرَّفِيقِ الْأَعْلَى، مَرَّتَيْنِ " قَالَتْ: ثُمَّ قُبِضَ "، تَقُولُ عَائِشَةُ: " قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بَيْنَ سَحْرِي وَنَحْرِي " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the passing of the Prophet (ﷺ) from this world took place in my house, on the day of my turn, between my chest and throat. That day, Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr came, and in his hand was a fresh miswak. The Prophet (ﷺ) used the miswak with such excellence that I had never seen him use it in that manner before. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) raised his hand to give it to me, but the miswak fell from his hand, and he said, "O Allah, [with] the Highest Companion," and at that moment the blessed soul of the Prophet (ﷺ) departed. In any case, all praise is due to Allah that in the last moments of the Prophet’s (ﷺ) life, He united my saliva with his.
