حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ، يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْأَقْمَرِ، عَنْ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ - وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَكَانَ طَلْحَةُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْهُ - عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: " حَكَيْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ: " مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنِّي حَكَيْتُ رَجُلًا، وَأَنَّ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا، قَالَتْ: فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ صَفِيَّةَ امْرَأَةٌ - وَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ كَأَنَّهُ يَعْنِي قَصِيرَةً - فَقَالَ: " لَقَدْ مَزَجْتِ بِكَلِمَةٍ، لَوْ مُزِجَ بِهَا مَاءُ الْبَحْرِ مَزَجَتْ " (١)، ، °
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once, in the presence of the Prophet (ﷺ), I began to imitate a man or a woman. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Even if I were to receive something greater in exchange for it, I would still not imitate anyone nor like it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Safiyyah is so short," and with this, I gestured with my hand to indicate her shortness. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You have uttered such a word that if it were mixed with the water of the sea, it would change its color."
