Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْطَى الْوَرِقَ، وَأَعْتَقَ، وَوَلِيِّ النِّعْمَةِ " وَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا حُرًّا، فَخُيِّرَتْ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The right of wala’ (inheritance of a freed slave) belongs only to the one who sets the slave free, and her husband was free, so she was given the choice.
