حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ مَنْصُورٍ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: كَانَ زَوْجُهَا عَبْدًا وَلَوْ كَانَ حُرًّا لَمْ يُخَيِّرْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١)،
Translation
English translation
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain, however, there is this addition in it that Barirah's husband was a slave; if he had been free, the Prophet (ﷺ) would never have given Barirah the choice.
