حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، وَعَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنْ سُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيٍّ، فَقَالَتْ لِي: هَلْ لَكِ إِلَى أَنْ تُرْضِينَ (١) رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِّي وَأَجْعَلُ لَكِ يَوْمِي؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ. فَأَخَذَتْ خِمَارًا لَهَا مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ، فَرَشَّتْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ اخْتَمَرَتْ بِهِ - قَالَ عَفَّانُ: لِيَفُوحَ رِيحُهُ - ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمِهَا، فَجَلَسَتْ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ، فَقَالَ: " إِلَيْكِ يَا عَائِشَةُ، فَلَيْسَ هَذَا يَوْمَكِ " فَقُلْتُ: فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ، ، يَشَاءُ، ثُمَّ أَخْبَرْتُهُ خَبَرِي، قَالَ عَفَّانُ: فَرَضِيَ عَنْهَا (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was upset with Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) over something. Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to her, "Aisha! Please reconcile the Prophet (ﷺ) with me on my behalf; I will give you my turn." She said, "Alright." Then she took one of her shawls, which had been dyed with saffron, sprinkled water on it so that its fragrance would spread, and then came and sat beside the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Aisha! Move back, today is not your turn." She replied, "This is the grace of Allah, which He bestows upon whom He wills." Then she told the whole incident to the Prophet (ﷺ), so the Prophet (ﷺ) became pleased with Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her).
