. . Translation

English translation

He said, Muhammad ibn Amr said: Sa'id ibn Yasar narrated to me, from Abu Huraira, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Indeed, when the deceased is attended by the angels, if he is a righteous man, they say: 'Come out, O good soul that was in the good body, come out praiseworthy, and receive glad tidings of mercy and fragrance, and a Lord who is not angry.' And this is said to it until it comes out, then it is taken up to the heaven, and the gate is opened for it, and it is said: 'Who is this?' It is said: 'So-and-so.' It is said: 'Welcome, O good soul that was in the good body, enter praiseworthy, and receive glad tidings of mercy and fragrance and a Lord who is not angry.' And this is said to it until it is brought to the heaven in which is Allah, Mighty and Majestic. But if he is an evil man, they say: 'Come out, O wicked soul that was in the wicked body, come out blameworthy, and receive tidings of boiling water and pus, and other punishments of similar kind.' And this is said to it until it comes out, then it is taken up to the heaven, and the gate is opened for it, and it is said: 'Who is this?' It is said: 'So-and-so.' It is said: 'No welcome to the wicked soul that was in the wicked body, return blameworthy, for the gates of heaven will not be opened for you.' Then it is sent down from the heaven, and then it returns to the grave." The righteous man is made to sit, and it is said to him, and he replies as in the hadith of Aisha, exactly. And the evil man is made to sit, and it is said to him, and he replies as in the hadith of Aisha, exactly.
