Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ ذِي الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ، فَإِنَّهُ يَلْتَمِسُ (١) الْبَصَرَ، وَيُصِيبُ الْحَبَلَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered the killing of those snakes which have two lines, because such snakes cause blindness and miscarry pregnancies from the wombs of women.
