حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَوْفَلِ بْنُ أَبِي عَقْرَبٍ،، ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ (١) عَائِشَةَ، هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُتَسَامَعُ عِنْدَهُ الشِّعْرُ؟ قَالَتْ: " كَانَ أَبْغَضَ الْحَدِيثِ إِلَيْهِ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

Abu Nofal says that I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "Were poems recited in the presence of the Prophet (peace be upon him)?" She replied that it was the most disliked thing to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
