حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ (١) بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، أَمَرَتْ بِجِنَازَةِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَنْ تَمُرَّ عَلَيْهَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَبَلَغَهَا أَنْ قِيلَ فِي ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَتْ: " مَا أَسْرَعَ النَّاسَ إِلَى الْقَوْلِ، وَاللهِ مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى سُهَيْلِ ابْنِ بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
Ubad bin Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says: When Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas passed away, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered that his funeral be brought past her. Due to the funeral coming into the mosque, there was some inconvenience. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) prayed for Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him). Some people objected to this. When Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) found out, she said: How quick people are to make remarks! The Prophet (ﷺ) himself offered the funeral prayer of Suhail bin Baida in the mosque.
