Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was on a journey. During the journey, the camel of Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) became ill. Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) had space on her camel. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to her that Safiyyah’s camel has become ill; if you give her one of your camels, it will be easier for her. She said, “Shall I give my camel to this Jewess?” Upon this, the Prophet (ﷺ) left her for two or three months of Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram; he would not go to her. She herself says that eventually I lost hope and changed the place of my bed. Suddenly, one day at midday, I felt the shadow of the Prophet (ﷺ) coming towards me (and the Prophet was pleased with me).
