Ata Khurasani says that once Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) entered the house of his sister, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). It was the day of Arafah and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was fasting, and water was being poured over her. Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said to her, "Break your fast." Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied, "Should I break my fast when I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say that fasting on the day of Arafah becomes an expiation for the sins of the previous year?"
