Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَرَى بَأْسًا أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ، وَيَقُولُ: " إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ بِمَاءٍ، يُقَالُ لَهُ: سَرِفُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى نَبِيُّ اللهِ حَجَّتَهُ، أَقْبَلَ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِذَلِكَ الْمَاءِ أَعْرَسَ بِهَا " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that
A sheep died in one of the houses of the Prophet's wives, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Why don't you make use of its skin?"
