حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: " قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَأْسُهُ بَيْنَ سَحْرِي وَنَحْرِي "، قَالَتْ: " فَلَمَّا خَرَجَتْ نَفْسُهُ، لَمْ أَجِدْ رِيحًا قَطُّ أَطْيَبَ مِنْهَا " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha that at the time of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) passing, his blessed head was between my throat and chest, and when the soul of the Prophet (peace be upon him) departed, there came a fragrance with it which I had never experienced before.
