English translation

Aswad says that once Abdullah bin Zubair said to me, "Tell me a hadith which Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha narrated only to you, because she used to narrate many things only to you and not to the general people." He says, "I said to him that she narrated a hadith to me, the first part of which I remember: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, 'If your people were not so close to the time of ignorance...'" (At this point Aswad stopped.) Then Ibn Zubair completed it, saying, "I would have demolished the Ka'bah and brought it to the ground level and made two doors for it, one for entering and one for exiting."
