حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: " إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيَبِيتُ جُنُبًا، فَيَأْتِيهِ بِلَالٌ لِصَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ، فَيَقُومُ فَيَغْتَسِلُ، وَإِنِّي لَأَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْمَاءِ يَنْحَدِرُ فِي جِلْدِهِ وَشَعَرِهِ، فَأَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَتَهُ لِصَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ، ثُمَّ يَظَلُّ صَائِمًا "، قَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ: قُلْتُ لِعَامِرٍ: فِي رَمَضَانَ؟ قَالَ: " سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكَ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha that sometimes the Prophet (peace be upon him) would be in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah) at night by choice. Bilal would come to inform about the Fajr prayer, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) would get up and perform ghusl, and I would see that water was dripping from his skin and hair, and I would hear his recitation, and on that day the Prophet (peace be upon him) would be fasting.
