حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ عَبْد اللهِ: وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، ابْنُ جُدْعَانَ كَانَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ، وَيُطْعِمُ الْمَسَاكِينَ، فَهَلْ ذَاكَ نَافِعُهُ؟ قَالَ: " لَا يَا عَائِشَةُ، إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَقُلْ يَوْمًا: رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي يَوْمَ، ، الدِّينِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha that once I asked the Prophet (peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Ibn Jud'an used to maintain ties of kinship during the time of ignorance and feed the poor. Will these deeds benefit him?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "Aisha! No, he never said even for one day: 'O Lord! Forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment.'"
