Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،، ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ، فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ "، قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: " لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِنْ هِشَامٍ شَيْئًا إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ الْوَاحِدَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it with water.
