حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ، قَالَتْ: " مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ مِنْ شَهْرٍ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ، كَانَ يَصُومُهُ كُلَّهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha that I did not see the Prophet (peace be upon him) fasting in any month as much as I saw him fasting in Sha'ban. The Prophet (peace be upon him) would fast almost the entire month.
