Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطَعَ الْأَوْدِيَةَ وَجَاءَ بِهَدْيٍ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بُدٌّ مِنْ أَنْ يَطُوفَ بِالْبَيْتِ، وَيَسْعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ، قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقِفَ بِعَرَفَةَ، فَأَمَّا أَنْتُمْ يَا أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ، فَأَخِّرُوا طَوَافَكُمْ حَتَّى تَرْجِعُوا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) concerning the words of Allah,
"You (true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his Sunnah) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'roof (i.e., Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden)" [Al 'Imran 3:110] that he said: They are the ones who migrated with Muhammad (ﷺ) to Madinah. Abu Nu'aim said: with the Prophet (ﷺ).
