حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ سَعْدٌ، وَأُتِيَ بِجِنَازَتِهِ، أَمَرَتْ بِهِ عَائِشَةُ أَنْ يُمَرَّ بِهِ عَلَيْهَا، فَشُقَّ بِهِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَدَعَتْ لَهُ، فَأُنْكِرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَتْ: " مَا أَسْرَعَ النَّاسَ إِلَى الْقَوْلِ، مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ابْنِ بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
Ubad bin Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas passed away, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered that his funeral be brought past her. Due to the funeral coming into the mosque, there was some difficulty. Aisha prayed for Sa’d. Some people objected to this. When Aisha found out, she said, “How quick people are to make remarks! The Prophet (ﷺ) offered the funeral prayer of Suhail bin Bayda right in the mosque.”
