حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا اتَّبَعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: أَتَّبِعُكَ لِأُصِيبَ مَعَكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ؟ " قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: " فَإِنَّا لَا نَسْتَعِينُ بِمُشْرِكٍ " قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ فِي الْمَرَّةِ الثَّانِيَةِ: " تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ؟ " قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، فَانْطَلَقَ فَتَبِعَهُ (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a man was walking behind the Prophet (ﷺ). He said, "I am going to join you in battle." The Prophet (ﷺ) asked him, "Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Then we do not take help from any polytheist." He repeated the same thing again, and the Prophet (ﷺ) asked the same question. This time he replied in the affirmative, and then he set out with the Prophet (ﷺ).
