حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " كَانَ الْكَافِرُ مِنْ كُفَّارِ قُرَيْشٍ يَمُوتُ فَيَبْكِيهِ أَهْلُهُ فَيَقُولُونَ: الْمُطْعِمُ، الْجِفَانَ، الْمُقَاتِلُ، الَّذِي فَيَزِيدُهُ اللهُ عَذَابًا بِمَا يَقُولُونَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: A man from among the disbelievers of Quraysh was dying, and his family, weeping over him, were saying, "He was one who filled pots with food and was a warrior." And because of their saying this, Allah Almighty would further increase his punishment.
