Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) passed away in such a state that the Prophet (ﷺ) had not explicitly appointed anyone as his successor. If the Prophet (ﷺ) had done so, he would have appointed either Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) or Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) as his successor.
