حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا (١) هِشَامٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِمَا يُطِيقُونَ فَيَقُولُونَ: إِنَّا لَسْنَا كَهَيْئَتِكَ، قَدْ غَفَرَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَكَ، مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ، وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ، فَيَغْضَبُ حَتَّى يُرَى ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ قَالَ: ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: " وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُكُمْ بِاللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَأَتْقَاكُمْ لَهُ قَلْبًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that if the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded people to do something within their capacity, and they would say, "O Messenger of Allah! We are not like you; Allah Almighty has forgiven all your past and future sins," then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would become displeased, and signs of anger would appear on his blessed face, and he would say, "I am the most knowledgeable of Allah among you and the most fearful of Him among you."
