English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) would come to her while he was fasting, and then ask, "Do you have anything with you this morning that you can feed me?" She would reply, "No, we have nothing with us this morning at this time." So the Prophet (ﷺ) would say, "Then I am fasting." And sometimes he would come and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) would say, "We have received a gift from somewhere, which we have kept for you," as happened on one occasion. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "What is it?" She replied, "Hais (a type of sweet dish)." So the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I had intended to fast this morning," and then he ate it.
