حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلالٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " اللهُمَّ أَعْطِ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ الْحِكْمَةَ، وَعَلِّمْهُ التَّأْوِيلَ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek refuge with Allah for al-Hasan and al-Husain, saying:
“I seek refuge for you in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous reptile, and from every envious evil eye.” Then he would say: "This is how my father Ibraheem used to seek refuge for Isma'eel and Ishaq (عليهما السلام)."
