حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ أَنَا ومَسْرُوقٌ، عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْنَا لَهَا: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَحَدُهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ، وَيُعَجِّلُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَالْآخَرُ يُؤَخِّرُ الْإِفْطَارَ، وَيُؤَخِّرُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَتْ: أَيُّهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ، وَيُعَجِّلُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ: قُلْنَا: عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: قَالَتْ: " كَذَاكَ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "، وَالْآخَرُ أَبُو مُوسَى (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
Abu Atiyyah says that once I and Masruq went to the service of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said to her, "O Mother of the Believers! There are two companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), one of whom hastens in breaking the fast and also in prayer, while the other delays both breaking the fast and prayer." She asked, "Who is the one who hastens in breaking the fast and prayer?" We replied, "Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him)." She said, "The Prophet (peace be upon him) also used to do the same." And the other companion was Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him).
