حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، " كُفِّنَ (٢) رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ سُحُولِيَّةٍ بِيضٍ "، وَقَالَ لِي (٣) أَبُو بَكْرٍ: فِي أَيِّ شَيْءٍ كُفِّنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟، ، قُلْتُ: فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ قَالَ: " كَفِّنُونِي فِي ثَوْبَيَّ هَذَيْنِ، وَاشْتَرُوا ثَوْبًا آخَرَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) was buried in three white Sahuli garments. Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him), during his illness of death, asked me, "In how many garments was the Prophet (ﷺ) shrouded?" I replied, "In three garments." He said, "Shroud me also in these two garments and buy a third garment."
