Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once some Jews sought permission to enter the house of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "As-saam 'alayka" (which means: death be upon you). Hearing this, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Death and curse be upon you." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Aisha! Allah likes gentleness in every matter." She said, "Did you not hear what they are saying?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I have replied to them: Wa 'alaykum (death be upon you)."
