٢٤٠٣٩ - حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ: ذَكَرُوا عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا كَانَ وَصِيًّا، فَقَالَتْ: مَتَى أَوْصَى، ، إِلَيْهِ؟ " فَقَدْ كُنْتُ مُسْنِدَتَهُ إِلَى صَدْرِي، أَوْ قَالَتْ: فِي حِجْرِي، فَدَعَا بِالطَّسْتِ، فَلَقَدِ انْخَنَثَ فِي حِجْرِي، وَمَا شَعَرْتُ أَنَّهُ مَاتَ، فَمَتَى أَوْصَى إِلَيْهِ (١) ؟ "
Translation
English translation
Aswad says that once some people mentioned before Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) had appointed Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) as his executor (wasiyy). She said, "When did the Prophet (ﷺ) appoint him as his executor? I was supporting the Prophet (ﷺ) against my chest. He asked for a basin, and ultimately his soul departed in my lap, and I did not even realize that he had passed away. So when did the Prophet (ﷺ) appoint him as his executor?"
