حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ثُمَامَةُ بْنُ شُفَيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، قَالَ: غَزَوْنَا أَرْضَ الرُّومِ وَعَلَى ذَلِكَ الْجَيْشِ فَضَالَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ فَقَالَ فَضَالَةُ: خَفِّفُوا، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَأْمُرُ بِتَسْوِيَةِ الْقُبُورِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
Thumamah says that we set out towards the land of Rome with Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him)... Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith and said: So he said, "Keep it level, because the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) commanded us to keep the graves level."
