Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) sent Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) by giving him his flag (on the occasion of the Battle of Khaybar), we also went out with him. When he reached near the fort, the people of the fort came out and the fighting began. A Jew attacked Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and Ali’s shield fell from his hand. He uprooted the door of the fort and used it as a shield, and during the battle it remained continuously in his hand until Allah granted him victory. After the battle was over, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) threw it away from his hand. I saw that a group of seven men—among whom I was the eighth—put all their strength into moving that door, but we could not move it.
