Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنْ كَعْبٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ (١) ، قَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرِ ابْنِ عَاصِمٍ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ، ، اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ka'b bin Asim Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, who was among the Companions of Saqifah, that I heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Fasting during travel is not an act of virtue."
