Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، مَوْلَى الْمُطَّلِبِ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا أَحَبَّ اللهُ قَوْمًا ابْتَلَاهُمْ، فَمَنْ صَبَرَ فَلَهُ الصَّبْرُ، وَمَنْ جَزِعَ فَلَهُ الْجَزَعُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) also said that when Allah Almighty loves a people, He puts them to trial. Then whoever is patient is granted patience, and whoever panics, for him is panic.
