قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ، أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَيْفَ، ، نُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Humaid Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) about the method of sending blessings (salat) upon him. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Say like this: O Allah, send Your mercy upon Muhammad (ﷺ), his family—that is, his pure wives and children—just as You sent mercy upon the family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. And send Your blessings upon Muhammad (ﷺ), his family—that is, his pure wives and children—just as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.
