Musnad Ahmad Hadith 23582

Marthad bin Abdullah Yazni (may Allah have mercy on him) says that in our place, Egypt, the companion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), came for jihad. At that time, Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) had appointed our leader as Uqbah bin Amir Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him). One day, Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) delayed the Maghrib prayer. After completing the prayer, Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) went to him and said, "O Uqbah! Did you see the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performing the Maghrib prayer like this? Did you not hear the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saying that my Ummah will remain upon goodness as long as they do not delay the Maghrib prayer until the stars appear?"
