حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الْعَبْسِيُّ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ الْعَبْسِيِّ،، ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا مَاتَ لَهُ مَيِّتٌ قَالَ: لَا تُؤْذِنُوا بِهِ أَحَدًا، إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَكُونَ نَعْيًا، " إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنِ النَّعْيِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when someone would die, he would say that no one should be informed about it, for I fear that this may be counted as "Nai" (public announcement of death), from which I heard the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) forbidding.
