حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ صِلَةَ بْنَ زُفَرَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ: " لَأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلًا أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ "، قَالَهَا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مَرَّتَيْنِ، فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ، فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that regarding the people of Najran, more than twice it was said, "I will send to you such a trustworthy man who truly deserves to be called trustworthy." Upon hearing this, the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) began to raise their heads and look around. Then the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) sent Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) with them.
