Musnad Ahmad Hadith 23373

It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when we were sharing a meal with the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), a slave girl came in, and it seemed as if someone was pushing her. She tried to put her hand into the food, but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) caught her hand. Then a Bedouin came in, and it seemed as if someone was pushing him. He tried to put his hand into the food, but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) caught his hand as well and said: When the name of Allah is not mentioned over the food, Satan considers it lawful for himself. So, at first, he came with this slave girl to make the food lawful for himself, but I caught her hand. Then he came with this Bedouin to make the food lawful for himself through him, but I caught his hand as well. Therefore, eat after reciting Bismillah.
