حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ أَبِي (٢) الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: كُنْتُ رَجُلًا ذَرِبَ اللِّسَانِ عَلَى أَهْلِي، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ يُدْخِلَنِي لِسَانِي النَّارَ قَالَ: " فَأَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ؟ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةً مَرَّةٍ (٣) "،، ، قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ: فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِأَبِي بُرْدَةَ فَقَالَ: " وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when speaking with my family, I could not control my tongue, although this did not happen with others. I mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), so the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Hudhaifa! Why are you negligent of seeking forgiveness? I myself repent and seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day."
