Musnad Ahmad Hadith 23330

It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was present in the service of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and performed the Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers with him. Then I followed him, and on the way, a man met us with whom the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) began to talk. When he left, I started walking behind the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) heard my footsteps and asked, "Who is it?" I replied, "Hudhaifa." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "What is the matter?" I narrated the whole incident. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "May Allah forgive you and your mother." Then he asked, "Have you ever seen the person on earth who just met me a little while ago?" I replied, "Why not?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He was an angel who had never descended to earth before tonight. He sought permission from the Lord to come and greet me and to give the glad tidings that Hasan and Husain are the leaders of the youth of Paradise, and Fatimah is the leader of the women of Paradise."
