حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا السَّفْرُ بْنُ نُسَيْرٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، وَغَيْرُهُ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا كُنَّا فِي شَرٍّ فَذَهَبَ اللهُ بِذَلِكَ الشَّرِّ، وَجَاءَ بِالْخَيْرِ عَلَى يَدَيْكَ، فَهَلْ بَعْدَ الْخَيْرِ مِنْ شَرٍّ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ "، قَالَ: مَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ: " فِتَنٌ كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ يَتْبَعُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا، تَأْتِيكُمْ مُشْتَبِهَةً كَوُجُوهِ الْبَقَرِ لَا تَدْرُونَ أَيًّا مِنْ أَيٍّ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he submitted to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ): O Messenger of Allah! We were in evil, Allah removed it through you, and through your hands, He made goodness prevail. Will there be evil after this goodness as well? The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Yes! He asked: What will it be like? The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: There will appear tribulations like the portions of a dark night, which will come one after another, and confusion will prevail over you just as the faces of cows resemble each other, and you will not be able to distinguish one from another.
