حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمْسَكَ الْقَوْمُ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْطَاهُ فَأَعْطَى الْقَوْمُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ سَنَّ خَيْرًا فَاسْتُنَّ بِهِ كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُهُ وَمِنْ أُجُورِ مَنْ يَتَّبِعُهُ غَيْرَ مُنْتَقِصٍ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئًا، وَمَنْ سَنَّ شَرًّا فَاسْتُنَّ بِهِ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ وِزْرُهُ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ مَنْ يَتَّبِعُهُ غَيْرَ مُنْتَقِصٍ مِنْ أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْئًا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once during the blessed era of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), a person asked people for something. The people hesitated, then one man gave him something, and after that, everyone started giving him. Upon this, the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever introduces a good practice in Islam, he will have its reward and the reward of those who act upon it after him, without their rewards being diminished in the least. And whoever introduces a bad practice in Islam, he will bear its sin and the sin of those who act upon it after him, without their sins being diminished in the least.
