Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ شُتَيْرِ، ، بْنِ شَكَلٍ، وعَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ، وَعَنْ سُلَيْكِ بْنِ مِسْحَلٍ الْغِطْفَانِيِّ قَالُوا: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا حُذَيْفَةُ وَنَحْنُ نَتَحَدَّثُ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّكُمْ لَتَكَلَّمُونَ كَلَامًا إِنْ كُنَّا لَنَعُدُّهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النِّفَاقَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from several Tabi'een that once Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us while we were talking, and he said: "You people are saying things which, in the time of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), we used to consider as 'hypocrisy'."
