حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ خُثَيْمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي، ، حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: اسْمُهُ سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ (١) مِنْ أَصْحَابِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: كُنَّا إِذَا حَضَرْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى طَعَامٍ لَمْ نَضَعْ أَيْدِيَنَا حَتَّى يَبْدَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَضَعَ يَدَهُ، وَإِنَّا حَضَرْنَا مَعَهُ طَعَامًا فَجَاءَتْ جَارِيَةٌ كَأَنَّمَا تُدْفَعُ، فَذَهَبَتْ تَضَعُ يَدَهَا فِي الطَّعَامِ، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهَا، وَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ كَأَنَّمَا يُدْفَعُ، فَذَهَبَ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ فِي الطَّعَامِ، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَسْتَحِلُّ الطَّعَامَ إِذَا لَمْ يُذْكَرْ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِنَّهُ جَاءَ بِهَذِهِ الْجَارِيَةِ لِيَسْتَحِلَّ بِهَا فَأَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهَا، وَجَاءَ بِهَذَا الْأَعْرَابِيِّ لِيَسْتَحِلَّ بِهِ فَأَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، إِنَّ يَدَهُ فِي يَدِي مَعَ يَدِهِمَا " (٢) ، يَعْنِي: الشَّيْطَانَ، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when we used to participate in a meal with the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), we would not put our hands into the food until the Prophet (ﷺ) began first. Once, in the same manner, we were participating in a meal with the Prophet (ﷺ). Meanwhile, a slave girl came, and it seemed as if someone was pushing her; she was about to put her hand into the food when the Prophet (ﷺ) caught her hand. Then a Bedouin came, and it seemed as if someone was pushing him; he was about to put his hand into the food when the Prophet (ﷺ) caught his hand as well. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "When the name of Allah is not mentioned over the food, Satan considers it lawful for himself. So, first, he came with this slave girl so that he could make the food lawful for himself, but I caught her hand. Then he came with this Bedouin so that through him he could make the food lawful for himself, but I caught his hand as well. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, Satan's hand is with their hands in my hand."
