حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ عَمٍّ لِي قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قُلْ لِي قَوْلًا وَأَقْلِلْ لَعَلِّي أَعْقِلُهُ، قَالَ: " لَا تَغْضَبْ "، قَالَ: فَعُدْتُ لَهُ مِرَارًا كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يَعُودُ، ، إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا تَغْضَبْ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ahnaf bin Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) that once my cousin presented himself in the court of the Messenger of Allah and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Give me some brief advice, perhaps I will understand it." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do not get angry." He repeated his request several times, and the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) gave the same reply each time: "Do not get angry."
