حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " غَيْرُ الضَّبُعِ عِنْدِي أَخْوَفُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ الضَّبُعِ، إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا سَتُصَبُّ عَلَيْكُمْ صَبًّا، فَيَا لَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا تَلْبَسُ الذَّهَبَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin once came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Drought has consumed us." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "In my view, there is something more dangerous for you than drought. Soon, the world will be poured upon you. I wish my followers would not wear gold."
