حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ لِفُلَانٍ نَخْلَةً فِي حَائِطِي، فَمُرْهُ فَلْيَبِعْنِيهَا، أَوْ لِيَهَبْهَا لِي، قَالَ: فَأَبَى الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " افْعَلْ وَلَكَ بِهَا نَخْلَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ "، فَأَبَى، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " هَذَا أَبْخَلُ النَّاسِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! So-and-so has a tree in my garden. Please tell him to either sell me that tree or gift it to me." But he refused to do so. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "Do this, and in exchange you will have a tree in Paradise." But he still did not agree. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He is the most miserly of people."
