حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا تَجْمَعُوا بَيْنَ اسْمِي وَكُنْيَتِي " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from the uncle of Abdur Rahman bin Abi Amrah (RA) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Do not combine my name and my kunyah (patronymic) together (i.e., that one person should take both my name and my kunyah)."
